Robert Miller Commends Future Electronics Team on Expansion of ON Semi/Aptina Image Sensor Line
Pointe Claire, Quebec (companies21) January 23, 2017 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced a new global agreement expanding the company's access to the ON Semiconductor / Aptina Image Sensor product line.
Robert Miller, the President and Founder of Future Electronics, congratulated his team on the completion of the expanded agreement with Aptina Imaging, which was created as a spin-off of Micron Technology's Image Sensor Division in March 2008.
In July 2009, Aptina became an independent, privately-held company, and was partially sold to a group including TPG and Riverwood Capital. By 2009, Aptina had a 16% share of the CMOS image sensors market. ON Semiconductor acquired Aptina Imaging in August 2014.
This newly expanded agreement with ON Semiconductor further adds to the already robust product line of CMOS image sensors available through Future Electronics. Target markets for CMOS image sensors include automotive, machine vision, and security.
